Rema, Asake Feature on Barack Obama’s Favorite Songs of 2024

Nigerian singers Rema and Asake have earned spots on former United States President Barack Obama’s favorite music list for 2024.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Obama unveiled his annual playlist on Saturday, featuring Yayo by Rema and Active by Asake, which also includes American rapper Travis Scott.

South African artist Tyla joined the list with her hit Jump, featuring Gunna and Skillibeng. Nigerian-American singers Shaboozey and Jordan Adetunji also made the cut with their tracks A Bar Song and Kehlani.

Music heavyweights such as Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Karol G were among the familiar names featured on the list with one song each.

Sharing his playlist on X (formerly Twitter), Obama wrote: “Here are my favorite songs from this year! Check them out if you’re looking to shake up your playlist – and let me know if there’s a song or artist I should make sure to listen to.”
