EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nigerian musician Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, has refuted claims of a romantic relationship with fellow artist Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor.
In an interview in Kenya on Thursday, Ayra Starr stated that she had just been made aware of the rumors and confirmed that Rema is a “brother in Christ” to her.
When asked to confirm the authenticity of the rumors, she responded, “No, that’s my brother in Christ, oh.”
The speculations about a romantic relationship between Ayra Starr and Rema have been circulating on social media for some time now. However, Ayra Starr’s recent denial seems to put an end to the rumors. Both artists are signed to Mavin Records, one of Nigeria’s leading music labels, and have collaborated on a few tracks in the past.
Ayra Starr has quickly become a household name in the Nigerian music industry, having signed with Mavin Records in January 2021. The 19-year-old has released several hit songs, including “Away” and “Sare,” which have received critical acclaim and amassed millions of views on YouTube. Her music is characterized by its Afro-fusion sound and introspective lyrics, which touch on themes such as love, self-discovery, and empowerment.
Rema, on the other hand, has been in the music industry since 2019 and has achieved significant success in a short amount of time.
The 21-year-old singer has won several awards, including the Headies Award for Next Rated in 2019, and has been featured on prominent international platforms such as COLORS and Jimmy Kimmel Live! His music is a blend of Afrobeats, trap, and pop, and he is known for his unique vocals and catchy hooks.
Despite the rumors of a romantic relationship, it appears that Ayra Starr and Rema’s relationship is strictly platonic. Both artists continue to focus on their music careers, and fans can expect more hit tracks from them in the future.
