The remains of the widow of the first Prime Minister of Nigeria, Hajiya Jummai Abubakar, has been laid to rest in Bauchi Central Cemetery in Bauchi State.
Her remains was laid to rest on Monday.
It was gathered that she died briefly after an undisclosed illness in a Lagos hospital.
The funeral prayers and rites was presided over by the Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Bala Baba-Inna.
It was gathered that the prayers and islamic rites took place at exactly 2.15 p.m at the palace of the Emir of Bauchi, with Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and other dignitaries in attendance.
She was aged 85, and was survived by eight children and many grandchildren.
Among the dignitaries that were present at her funeral include the emirs of Bauchi, Rilwanu Suleiman; Dass, Bilyamunu Othman; Ningi, Yunusa Danyaya; Misau, Ahmed Suleiman; Katagum, Umar Farouk, and representative of that of Jama’are, Yerima Jama’are.
