EKO HOT BLOG reports that in an official statement on Saturday, Busola Kukoyi, the Senior Special Adviser on Media to the First Lady, stated that there are no plans for a national prayer initiative led by Senator Tinubu. Kukoyi described the circulating reports as “unfounded and misleading.”
The statement reads: “This is to clarify and inform the general public that the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, is not organizing a national prayer.
“The reports circulating across some conventional and social media platforms are unfounded and misleading.
“Therefore, anyone who has encountered this false news about a joint national prayer for Nigeria should disregard it.”
While affirming the First Lady’s commitment to prayer and the belief in its importance, Kukoyi emphasized that Senator Tinubu views prayer as a personal responsibility for every Nigerian, irrespective of religious, political, or ethnic affiliations.
“The First Lady, a Christian and strong advocate of prayer, believes that praying for Nigeria is a duty for all citizens, to be done willingly and with sincerity,” Kukoyi added.
The public is urged to verify any news concerning the First Lady or her office through official channels to avoid misinformation.
