All bandits in Zamfara State have been issued a two-month deadline to repent and surrender their arms or face serious repercussions from security forces, according to Governor Bello Matawalle.
Matawalle told journalists in Gusau House on Tuesday that any bandit who refused to surrender within the time limit would be punished by the government.
He insisted that the federal government would soon send an additional 6,000 soldiers to assist the state government in combating the renegade bandits, Eko hot blog gathered.

“I’ve given you up to two months to surrender your arms and repent,” he said, adding that “the government will battle any bandit who refuses to embrace the peace process.”
He urged local government sole administrators and traditional rulers to keep an eye on their respective areas and report any attacks to the government so that action could be taken.
