Appraising Hon Raji’s Giant Strides At The FHR As He Marks Birthday

The fundamental essence true of federalism lies in the decentralization of powers from the central government to other adjuncts of governance to ensure effective governance down to the grassroot level.

To this end, the legislative arm of government in Nigeria, in accordance with democratic principles has provided the platform for effective representation of the different constituencies in every state in the country as a means of further ameliorating the lives of the constituents and giving their interests a national voice.

Whereas Nigerians have often complained of ineffective representation at the legislative level, this has not been the case for Epe Federal Constituency of Lagos State, who are currently enjoying first rate representation with Rt Hon. Wale Raji as Member Representing Epe Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

Indeed, it is by no means an overstatement that Epe Federal Constituency in safe hands, an irrebuttable truth backed up by a plethora of projects chaperoned by Rt Hon Wale Raji.

As the lawmaker marks his 65th birth anniversary, Eko Hot Blog takes a cursory look at some of the highlights of his highly eventful term at the Federal House of Representatives.

Gleaning from the lawmaker’s projects so far, it is evident that Hon. Raji’s major focus has been in the area of education, as evidenced by the ongoing project of constructing Six block of Modern Classrooms with Toilet Facilities in Five Secondary Schools across the Federal Constituency.

Also, the Wale Raji Scholarship Scheme Under the leadership of Distinguished Professor Basirat Oladipupo Olushola, First Female Professor in Epe Federal Constituency is set to unveil plans targeted at the Educational growth and development of Epe Federal Constituency, another landmark stride towards promoting qualitative education in Epe Federal Constituency and offering a firm platform for the teeming youths to garner useful knowledge to compete with the demands of an increasingly competitive world.

Other key highlights of Hon Raji’s representation include the facilitation of the Itoikin-Epe Road, cash grants on a monthly basis to a fraction of his constituents including a business support initiative for market women.

In recognition of the place of technology in a rapidly changing world, Hon Raji is also setting up Fully Equipped and Modernized ICT Center inside Epe Girls High School.

As characteristic of any lawmaker passionate towards making a difference, Hon. Raji has also been at the tip of the spear in sponsoring a number of bills and motions in the FHR. One of such accomplishments has been the sponsoring of a bill to expand the scope the compulsory treatment for victims of gunshot injuries Act, 2017 thereby allowing hospitals, (both public and private) to attend to victims of other armed attacks other than gunshot injuries without a police report and ultimately bring the law in conformity with the actual intendment of the Act. This bill, to say the least, has made a great difference with regard to swift response to emergency accidents; a long overdue reform in the area of healthcare delivery.

In the light of these accomplishments, it would go without a saying that Hon Wale Raji has delivered with exacting clarity vis-à-vis the promises he made to his constituents upon accepting the mandate given to him to serve the good people of Epe Federal Constituency and has consequently earned the right to re-election in order to continue this tremendously laudable streak of quality representation.
