The Lagos Command enjoined residents to report sightings of operatives found on duty in mufti “for disciplinary actions”.
Alabi told Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure strict enforcement.
The CP said the caution “is in compliance with the earlier directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman”.
Alabi reminded officers on patrol and stop-and-search duties that they must appear in approved uniforms.
The chief vowed to vicariously hold liable any supervisor or Head of Department “under whose jurisdiction this directive is flouted”.
