Reprisal Attacks, Major Setbacks In Crisis Situation – Global Peace Foundation
A group known as Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, GPF has cautioned people from conflict-affected regions to refrain from reprisal attacks, describing it as the primary cause of mass killings of innocent people as well as the destruction of properties in most of the country.
Country Director of the foundation Reverend John Joseph Hayap stated this while addressing leaders of Ardo and Adara communities affected by the recent killings and destruction of properties in kajuru local government area of Kaduna state

Rev. John Hayap, who emphasized the need for peace and harmonious coexistence among the people in the area, noted that the Nongovernmental organization was committed to promoting an innovative value-based approach to peacebuilding in the society.
He explains, “Until we begin to evolve dialogue as the only alternative to our differences, we will continue to cause major setbacks among ourselves at the slightest provocation. We should learn to respect and value one another as people created by God by feeling for one another.”
“We are all one family created by God, hence the need to love and live in peace with one another through dialogue as the only weapon to forge ahead to put to shame those who are confusing our communities,
Rev. Hayab observed that when people created in the image and likeness of God begin to fight, they will lose the value of their creation, which he said was communication and understanding one another for a better society.
The leader of the peace building organization said the dialogue session organized for the community leaders was to foster peace and unity through sensitization to find a lasting solution to colossal loss of lives and property in the area and beyond.
In an address, Northern Coordinator of the NGO, Sheikh Haliru Maraya urged the people of Adara land to shelve their swords and take the path of peaceful coexistence that gives a better sense of living according to the original purpose of God in the life of man.
Participants and leaders of the various communities at the meeting pledged to embrace peace, tolerance, and better understanding to promote harmonious coexistence that the local government area is known for over the years.
