The House of Representatives has announced its intention to intervene in the security situation in Osun State, with plans to establish an ad hoc committee to conduct a thorough investigation, Eko Hot Blog reports.
This decision comes in response to a motion introduced by Honourable Bamidele Salam, calling for urgent action to prevent further escalation of the crisis.
The House has also urged security agencies to prioritize restoring peace in the state.
Recent political tensions have led to violence and the death of at least seven individuals, including former council chairman Remi Abbas.
As both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trade blame over the crisis, the House’s intervention aims to address the security concerns and ensure the safety of Osun State residents.
