The chairman of the committee and House Leader Alhassan Ado Doguwa, asked the Bureau of Public Enterprises to ensure the electricity project was completed by the German power company. BPE Director-General Alex Okoh said significant progress was being made on the power project deal and that it was slated for completion by December 2021.

The committee alleged that the privatization of the defunct National Electric Power Authority and the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria had failed to address the challenges in the sector.

Meanwhile, the committee summoned the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele and the Accountant-General of the Federation Ahmed Idris over issues in the sector.
