The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has instructed its members nationwide to embark on an indefinite strike from Monday, August 2.
This decision was made at the end of a meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the union held in Umuahia, Abia State.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the meeting, NARD’s National President, Okhuaihesuyi Uyilawa, stated that members have been asked to proceed on a nationwide indefinite strike action to press home their demands.

He blamed the doctors’ decision to go on strike on the inability of the Federal Government to meet its demands.
Uyilawa, however, apologised to Nigerians for the decision which he reiterated was a result of the government’s failure in its responsibilities.
