Russian Defense Ministry has reported on Sunday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 125 Ukrainian drones overnight.
One of these drones struck a residential apartment building in the western city of Voronezh, according to the local governor.
Meanwhile, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, shared details of drone and shelling attacks over the last 24 hours.
He confirmed that one man was killed in the border town of Shebekino, and eight civilians were injured in various parts of the region.
As fighting continues in eastern Ukraine, Kyiv has escalated its efforts to strike within Russia.

Since August 6, Ukraine has been conducting cross-border assaults into Russia’s western Kursk region and launching increasingly significant drone strikes deeper into Russian territory.
The Defense Ministry highlighted that the primary focus of the recent drone activity was in the southern Volgograd region, where 67 drones were shot down.
Additionally, 17 drones were intercepted in both the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, with another 18 drones downed in the Rostov region.
Voronezh governor Alexander Gusev took to the Telegram messaging platform to confirm that a drone had hit a residential building, causing a fire.
He reassured the public that the blaze was under control, and no injuries were reported based on preliminary information.
A video shared by the Mash Telegram channel allegedly showed the fire engulfing the top floor of a high-rise building in Voronezh, though Reuters was unable to immediately verify the footage.
