Residents of Epe Elated for the Healthy Bee Project
The Lagos state government has organised a free medical intervention for children between the ages of 0-12 in various primary health centres across the state from Thursday 1st August to 31st August 2019.
The residents of Epe are elated as parents accompany their children to the primary health center, Epe for various medical checkup.
The program which commenced about 10am yesterday had three hundred and ten patients registered of which 36 patients were for surgical cases and 7 for ENT( eye, nose and throat) 75 eye patients were examined. 35 free glasses were given out while 15 glasses were ordered for. More so, drugs were given out and other recommendations.
Dr Banjo Oluwasegun while lecturing the patients spoke on dental care, he revealed that the causes of mouth odour is as a result of dirt stored in gums and in between the teeth. He further recommended that patients use a suitable brush for their teeth.
He also demonstrated how this should be done and encouraged patients to approach him for any questions that may bother them.
Mrs Quadri Fatima, a mother of a baby said she found the program very interesting “I learnt about the program from a friend though I was late and couldn’t be attended to yesterday but this morning I have been well attended to, I really appreciate the Lagos state government for organising this wonderful program” she said.
Hassan Aisha, an eleven year old resident of Epe said she was taken to general hospital Epe to see the doctor but was referred to PHC to benefit from the program. “I am so happy to be here and I want to thank the Lagos state government for coming to the aid of those that cannot afford to go to the hospital” .
