Eko Hot Blog reports that residents trooped to the palace of Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija, Epe Division, Lagos State, to collect food palliative for the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
The food palliative was donated by the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu through the ‘Ounje Eko’ initiative.
‘Ounje Eko’ is a discount market initiative by the Lagos State Government to provide discounted food prices across the state.
The state government used the initiative to provide free food palliative to residents for the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
Muslims across the world will celebrate Eid-el-Kabir on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
Many vulnerable residents of Odo-Noforija are set to enjoy a more joyful festival after packs of food marked ‘Not For Sale’ were handed to them at Oba Ogunlaja’s palace.
Earlier on Friday, residents of Eredo LCDA also received packs of ‘Ounje Eko’ palliative to provide them relief for Eid-el-Kabir.
