Residents at Ijegun, a popular Lagos suburb are currently in panic over a raging fire in the area.
The inferno, according to a resdient who spoke to The Nation, might have been caused by the activities of vandals.
“Everywhere is on fire. We’re all outside with our properties. We can’t go to work because the fire is huge,” a resident, Adeola Adekoya, said.
Speaking further, he said residents have complained many times in the past over the activities of pipeline vandals as he called for emergency responders to mobilise men and resources to the area.
It would be recalled that pipelines acting under the cover of the night and allegedly aided by security agents caused a simiar inferno at the Abule Egba area of Lagos late last year.
The fire left many injured and several properties including houses, cars and many others destroyed.
