Brazil and PSG star, Neymar Jnr., has a bit of cheer in his ongoing rape scandal after lawyers of his accuser backed out from representing her.
According to a Globo TV report, the lawyer’s decision was due to the many contradictions in her story.
Speaking about the matter, officials of the law firm, whose name was given as The Fernandes e Abreu, said their client initially told them she had consensual sex with Neymar in a Paris hotel in May and that he then became violent and assaulted her.
The lawyers said, however, the official complaint the women gave to the police in Brazil “described what had happened as ‘rape’, which is a completely different allegation”.
In his defence, Neymar, who became the most expensive footballer in the world after moving to PSG from Barcelona, posted a seven-minute video on Instagram on Saturday vehemently denying he had raped the woman along with a string of WhatsApp messages with the Brazilian woman.
His father and representative, Neymar Santos Snr, said his son is a victim of malicious blackmail.
