Restore Power Now, Lagos Prepaid Meter Customers Tell EKEDC
Eko Electricity Distribution Company has been warned to restore the power supply in the districts where power was terminated due to March and April’s outstanding debts.
The prepaid meters users were the ones lamenting yesterday 11 May 2020, at the EKEDC office, Barbeach branch, Victoria Island, over the intentional power outrage by the company in some areas in Lagos.
Prepaid meters holders went to the streets to show their grievances to the barbaric acts, lamenting that the company should have given prepaid meters to every household instead of terminating the whole neighborhood power supply.
Our reporter went to the scene and heard out the views of the protesters.

Mr. Akinsemoyin Alao said that he had joined others in protest against deliberate removal of power supply in my area, Into, Lekki, as the company has not produced a genuine reason for the power termination.
He moved further to say that if the company had supplied every community with prepaid meters, would they be complaining of debts today.
“They should restore back the light because we have subscribed to the meter with enough credits, ” he said.
Another complainer, Mrs. Serah Akingbade, said they have been in the darkness over two weeks, saying that the ridiculous idea by the EKEDC could lead to the initiation of armed robbery practice within the neighborhood.
“We are begging them to restore the light for God’s sake,” she said.
The officials of EKEDC were adamant with their ideas that no payment of March and April outstanding debts, no power supply.
