EKO HOT BLOG reports that Professor Olatunji-Bello charged the students to work hard ahead of a new academic semester.
The VC made this known in a statement made available to the public where she welcomed students back on campus for a new session.
In her words: “I urge you to give your very best this semester and resist any temptation to take the shortcut to success; nothing good comes easy. Work hard and stay focused on your goal and it shall be well with you.”
Professor Olatunji-Bello said the new semester will drive toward the attainment of the university’s vision of being the Best University in Africa.
She added that the university has invested in capacity-building training to improve the productivity of staff.
“This semester promises to be even more rewarding for you as we drive towards the attainment of our vision to become the best University in West Africa.”
“As part of our effort in this regard, we are investing more in the training and retraining of our staff to improve their productivity and enhance their service to you.”
Earlier on Thursday, 10th November, LASU held intensive training for all newly engaged academic staff to optimize their performance.
As part of efforts to ensure better service delivery to the students, Professor Olatunji-Bello said that the university is “also engaged in several local and international collaborations for students exchange programmes, amongst others.”
“The results of these engagements would become visible soon,” she stated.
A part of the statement reads: “It is 14th November and that means the beginning of a new academic semester, according to our academic calendar. On behalf of the University Community, I am delighted to welcome you back on campus, and once again, I wish you a hitch-free and successful semester.”
The VC further wishes the students well as they face the last lap of their academic session,
