Retired Teacher Released After Ransom Payment, Son Still Held

Eko Hot Blog reports that kidnappers have released a retired primary school teacher, Mr Barnabas Musa, after two weeks in captivity, but are still holding his 6-year-old son.

The victim’s relative, Ishaya Musa, said the kidnappers released Mr Musa on Thursday after the family paid a ransom of N5 million. They are now demanding an additional N3 million for the release of his son.

The family is appealing to the security agencies to help rescue the boy.

The spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, has not yet responded to a request for comment.
