Reuters Staff, Others Injured in Russian Strike on Ukraine
A devastating Russian strike on a hotel in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, has left a Reuters staff member unaccounted for and several others injured.
The hotel, where a six-person Reuters crew was staying, was hit on Saturday night, causing widespread destruction and chaos.
“We are deeply concerned about the safety of our colleague, a safety adviser who was working with our news team,” a Reuters spokesperson said.
“We are working closely with authorities in Kramatorsk to find out more information.”
The strike killed at least one person and injured several others, including an American citizen, according to local officials.
Rescuers have uncovered one body under the rubble, but the identity has not been released.

The Reuters crew managed to capture footage of the extensive damage, showing emergency services searching through piles of rubble and destroyed hotel rooms.
The video also revealed significant damage to the hotel’s roof.
Kramatorsk has been a frequent target of Russian shelling since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022.
The city remains one of the largest under Ukrainian control in the besieged east.
This latest attack has sparked outrage, with many calling it an apparent war crime.
The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of journalists and civilians in conflict zones.
As the search for the missing Reuters staff member continues, the world watches with bated breath, hoping for a swift and safe resolution.
