Tinubu has spoken on the alleged allocation of Lagos revenue.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has opened up on his source of wealth.
This online media platform gathered that there have been various speculations on the former Lagos Governor’s affluence.
Some individuals have alleged that he is a former drug baron, while others claimed that a monthly income from the Internally Generated Revenue of Lagos Account is stowed away for Tinubu.
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Bode George, during an interview with Yoruba Tooto TV in 2021, alleged that Tinubu is given a monthly income of N9 billion from the state coffers.
He said, “Do you know how much is Lagos state internally generated revenue monthly? N60 billion minimum, and someone (Tinubu) is sitting somewhere, taking 15 percent of it, that’s N9 billion every month.”
Tinubu has, however, addressed this allegation while speaking on his source of wealth during an interview with the BBC.
The APC flag bearer explained that he invested in real estate and, in his words, “turned the value around.”
Speaking further, Tinubu said he is the most investigated governor, and people often question his source of wealth due to envy.
He stated that there was no truth to the claims that he is given a monthly income from Lagos’s revenue.
