Richard Mills Visit: LNSA G.M, Restates Confidence in Agency Capacity

Dr. Falade Oyekan, General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), has expressed confidence in the agency’s ability to function as a State Police within two years, given the significant investment by the Lagos State Government in security and the agency’s operations.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Oyekan made this statement during a visit by the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, to the LNSA headquarters in Bolade, Oshodi.

Oyekan emphasized that the LNSA has undergone substantial rebranding and structural changes to enhance its effectiveness in policing.
The agency has achieved several notable firsts, establishing itself as a pioneer in community policing.
His words: “We are the first to introduce the Body Worn Camera. We have introduced the Body shield for the crowd control unit and have created new units to develop our professional capacity.
The Agency is on the ascendancy and will continue in that direction. Lagos intends to prepare the Corps in readiness to become the State Police outfit in not too distant future”.
The LNSA Boss warmly welcomed the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, and the Acting Consular-General, JosEllen Gorg, during their visit to the agency’s headquarters.
Oyekan expressed his hope that this visit would help further the vision of establishing LNSA as the leading community policing organization in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
Ambassador Mills thanked the General Manager and the LNSA staff for their hospitality and praised the agency’s remarkable progress under its current management.

He found the tour of the facilities both surprising and enlightening, commending the transformation achieved by the organization.
According to him, “Although my staff had briefed me about the Agency, seeing the real thing has been revealing and engaging for me”.
