In an interview on Channels Television and monitored by EKO HOT BLOG, Wike labeled Fubara’s claims as false and misleading
Wike, who previously served as Governor of Rivers State and handpicked Fubara as his successor, expressed his frustration over the governor’s alleged dishonesty.
He accused Fubara of betraying those who supported his rise to power.

“I never asked for N20 billion or N100 billion from him; these are outright lies,” Wike stated.
“I was instrumental in bringing him into office, and now he has abandoned those who fought for him.”
The fallout between Wike and Fubara has been marked by sharp criticisms and mutual accusations.
Despite Wike’s pivotal role in ensuring Fubara’s victory in the 2023 governorship election, the relationship between the two has deteriorated significantly. Wike’s comments reflect ongoing tensions and disappointment over how Fubara has handled his tenure.
