There’s a loud cry for help by residents of Oyigbo area of Port Harcourt in Rivers as violence and mayhem erupts in the area.
The mayhem started in the early hours of Friday.
The southern part of the country has been enveloped in chaos and unrest in the last couple of days with looting, killing, arson and riot the order of the day.
Ekohotblog can’t independently ascertain the cause of the violence but some residents said it was an escalation of the tension that’s been brewing between the Fulani herdsmen and the residents.
Another social media user opined that it was the soldiers that are going from one house to another to kill people and set their house ablaze, a claim this media outfit can’t also verify.
However, distress calls for the deployment of security personnel to the hotshot by residents have not been hearkened to as there are no security operatives on ground to quell the mayhem.
