Rivers Political Crisis Part of God’s Plan for Freedom, Growth – Fubara
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has attributed recent political challenges in the state to divine intervention, stating that the turbulence is part of God’s plan to secure political freedom and drive economic progress for the region.
Fubara shared these thoughts during a thanksgiving service in celebration of His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, newly appointed Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council. Held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Shepard’s Hill Parish in Mgbuoba, the service also included the presentation of Holy Bibles to the governor by church leaders.
Fubara emphasized that, due to divine support, his administration remains resilient despite anticipated setbacks. He affirmed his faith-driven approach to governance, seeking God’s guidance in leading the state. “What many consider trouble, I see as God’s redirection for our state. Far from weakening us, these challenges have strengthened our resolve,” he said.

Expressing gratitude, the governor highlighted the importance of thanksgiving, citing it as essential for clarity and guidance in challenging times. He also celebrated the enthusiasm with which Eze Wodo had expressed gratitude, likening it to King David’s unabashed worship in the Bible.
Fubara assured attendees that his administration is dedicated to fostering a legacy rooted in faith and encouraged the congregation to continue their prayers for the state’s peace and prosperity. “Though challenges may appear daunting, God’s plan will ultimately prevail,” he affirmed.
To support the church’s mission, the governor announced a ₦100 million donation in honor of Eze Wodo, meant to bolster evangelistic efforts.

Pastor David Adewuye, delivering a sermon titled “We are ambassadors for Christ,” emphasized the importance of accepting Christ’s saving grace to fully comprehend and fulfill one’s divine purpose.
