EKO HOT BLOG reports that a tragic road accident has claimed the lives of 14 people and left five others injured in Zangoro village, along the Bauchi-Darazo road. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has been attributed to speed violation.
According to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi State, Mr Yusuf Abdullahi, the accident involved a Golf 3 Wagon car with registration number AJ507GWA and a private Chevrolet car. The FRSC personnel who were clearing the scene of the accident recovered N73,000, seven phones, one power bank and four small handbags.
In a Road Traffic Crash (RTC) report, Abdullahi stated that the corpses of the deceased and the injured have been referred to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital in Bauchi for medical attention and identification.
The FRSC Commander has called on motorists to always respect traffic rules and regulations while plying the road in order to prevent accidents. The accident serves as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of road safety.
The incident has left the families and loved ones of the deceased in mourning, and the injured are receiving medical attention in hopes of a full recovery. The community is reeling from the tragedy and calls for stricter enforcement of road safety measures to prevent future accidents.
