The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, has ordered an investigation into the killing of a mobile money agent or Point of Sales operator, Mukaila Adebayo, by suspected robbers.
Mukaila, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps, was shot dead near his shop in the Omo-West area of Osogbo around 11pm on Tuesday by the hoodlums.
The Commissioner of Police told newsmen that a detailed investigation into the killing had commenced, adding that details on the incident were still sketchy.
Kokumo, who spoke through the command’s Public Relations Officer, Folasade Odoro, said, “A full-scale investigation to get the perpetrators has commenced.

“We sympathise with the family of the deceased. We assure the public that no stone will be left unturned in getting to the root of the incident.”
Sources in the area said Mukaila and his daughter were returning home after the day’s work when two men accosted them around 10.50pm.
The robbers were said to have dispossessed him of the money, PoS terminal and other items in the bag he was carrying before they shot him in the head.
The robbers were said to have fled the scene on a motorcycle.
An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assailants must have killed Mukaila because he recognised one of them.
