Role models, Mentors Are What Nigeria Need—Ex-Int’l SU Director
Mr. Emmanuel Oladipo, the former International Director, Scriptures Union, has said Nigerians are in need of role models and mentors to change the perception of Nigeria and its citizens across the globe.
Oladipo said this at the launch of his latest book entitled “Exemplary Christians in the Nigerian Public Square,” noting that in his travels he discovered that Nigerians are not respected.
According to him, “I was surprised to see Nigerian man and women committed to a life I integrity and I was humbled by their lifestyle when I interacted with them.
“Nigerians need more role models and mentors to help change the negative image. Whoever knows such people must write about them to inspire others.”
Also speaking during the event at Chapel of the Healing Cross, Idiaraba, Lagos, former Nigeria Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr. Christopher Kolade, cautioned politicians on their actions, noting that they are expected to leave a good legacy for the coming generations.
Chairman of the occasion, the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Bishop of Lagos Mainland (Emeritus), the Most Revd. Adebayo Akinde, said things have turned bad because of the attitude of many Nigerians, and it increasingly difficult to know what is right.
