Rotary Club Donates Clinic to Ifako-Ijaiye Hospital
The Rotary Club of Omole Golden has performed the foundation laying ceremony of a new Neo-Natal Clinic in General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye in addition to donating a new incubator to the facility.
The President of the Club, Rotarian Ibironke Alaba said the Club decided to donate a new clinic to the hospital to facilitate the use of some incubators that were donated but could not be utilised due to space constraints.
While recalling that the Club had, over the years, donated about 10 Incubators and Phototherapy lights to the hospital, she said the Association will endeavour to complete the project in good time so that more preterm babies can benefit from the facility.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the District Governor of Rotary International District 9110, Rotarian Pharm Kolapo Sodipo stressed the need for more public-spirited individuals to share their resources with the needy and also support projects beneficial to children.
On his part, the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Olusola Amure, who represented the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris commended the Rotarians for complementing government efforts in reducing the infant mortality rate.
He applauded the gesture saying, “Your uncommon passion for neonatal care is compassion at its best worthy of emulation by everyone”.
