  • Alara stated that even though he was not a Rotarian, he held the 4-way test of the prestigious International organisation in high regard.

The Alara of Ilara kingdom, Oba Dr Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Telade IV has expressed his admiration for the fundamental tenets of the Rotary Club of Nigeria, noting that the club’s 4-way test constitutes a primary paradigm for him in his service to the community.

Alara was speaking in an interview with Eko Hot Blog on the occasion of his 54th birthday celebration which played host to Royal fathers, friends, family members and notable personalities across the length and breadth of Lagos state.

Alara stated that even though he was not a Rotarian, he held the 4-way test of the prestigious International organisation in high regard.

“Some Rotarians, Rotary Club of Epe Metropolitan, came earlier in the day to give me an award and I told them that even though I’m not a card-carrying member of the Rotary club, I am part and parcel of them because I am aware of the 4-way test. I did a swot analysis of myself and I believe that I eminently qualify to be a Rotarian by all standards,” he said.

Alara, who appreciated his 1st coronation anniversary committee for their dogged commitment towards the success of the event, pledged to continue working assiduously towards the gratification of his subjects.

“I don’t need to wait for my birthday before I reach out to my people. It’s a continuous process, it is part of me, I believe I will continuously serve my people in the most diligent way to continuously bring succour to them. In the last one year, I’ve brought about four medical outreach, I’ve reached to the young, old and everybody, so they now know what leadership is all about,” he said.

Alara also preached on the significance of one’s birthday as an ample reminder of God’s blessings as well as the need for us to exert ourselves to the service of humanity knowing that our fleeting existence here on earth is continuously spiralling outwards.

He also appreciated his family and friends for their strong sentiments of love and goodwill as well as numerous gifts offered to him as tokenistic expressions of that love.

“I appreciate them, I love them and I thank them for appreciating God in my life. I’m so elated, I’m excited and I promise to not let them down with the kind of confidence they’ve imposed in me to associate with me. I won’t want to be a point to abuse their hard-earned reputation. I would rather want to improve and ensure that I keep the flag flying,” the celebrant stated.

The low-key celebration was well attended by Royal fathers some of which are; Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Alade Uraka of Poka, Orijeru of Igboye, Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, Obateru of Egbin, Onisolu of Solu Alade and Olofin Adimula of Awori.
