Ukrainian prosecutors has announced on Friday that they are investigating a disturbing incident where Russian troops allegedly shot and killed three Ukrainian servicemen who were surrendering on the eastern front near Pokrovsk.
This latest incident is just one of many reported by Ukraine, and it has sparked outrage and condemnation.
According to the Prosecutor General’s office, the incident occurred on August 27 when Russian troops attacked a Ukrainian military trench, forcing the soldiers to emerge and kneel with their hands behind their heads.
In a shocking display of brutality, the Russian troops opened fire, killing the three servicemen.
CNN obtained drone footage of the incident, which shows the three men kneeling and falling to the ground after the apparent shooting.

While Reuters has not independently verified the video, the Ukrainian prosecutor general, Andriy Kostin, confirmed on X that Kyiv is investigating the executions of 73 Ukrainian prisoners by Russian troops.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Heorhiy Tykhyi, condemned the incident, calling it a “war crime” and a “disgrace to humanity.”
He emphasized that Russia’s actions are a gross violation of international humanitarian law.
The Kremlin has denied committing war crimes in Ukraine, despite Kyiv’s documentation of nearly 130,000 war crimes committed by Moscow since the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
As the investigation continues, the international community is watching with growing concern, and Ukraine is demanding justice for these heinous crimes.
