Eko Hot Blog reports that Ukranian air force succeeded at repelling a midnight attack by the Russian force.
The report said the Russian drone fired a missile on a port district in the Ukraine’s southwestern Odesa region, but the Ukraine’s air defence was swift to counter the attack on its capital, Kyiv.
The regional Governor, Oleg Kiper said the attack on the Odesa Izmail district lasted for about three hours in the early hours of Wednesday.
The region of the occurrence is the Danube river port which borders Romania, a member of NATO, has been a main export of route for the Ukrainian agricultural produce since Russia’s withdrawal from the grain deal in July. An agricultural worker in the region was confirmed dead during the attack.
The residents who witnessed the attack said they heard several blasts at about 05:50am Ukrainian time (02:50 GMT).
The Russian defence ministry said its air defence systems destroyed a Ukraine-launched drone before midnight on Tuesday over the Bryansk region – the border between the two countries.
Serhiy Popko, the head of the Kyiv City military administration said no casualty so far other than the agricultural worker who has been reported dead.
