Russia Strikes Ukrainian Military School, Dozens Dead

A devastating Russian strike on a military educational facility in Poltava, central Ukraine, has left a trail of destruction and death.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that 41 lives were lost and over 180 people were injured in the attack, making it one of the deadliest single assaults since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

The strike, which occurred on Tuesday morning, hit the facility and a nearby hospital, catching people off guard as they sought shelter.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense noted that the time between the air raid alarm and the strike was eerily short, leaving little time for evacuation.

While Moscow has remained silent on the attack, a Russian military blogger, Vladimir Rogov, claimed earlier on Tuesday that Russia had targeted a military school in Poltava.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ihor Klymenko, reported that emergency services have contained the fire and rescued over 10 people from the rubble, with clearing operations still underway.

The attack has left a significant impact on the surrounding area, with damaged buildings, shattered windows, and high-rise residential blocks bearing the brunt of the shock waves.

As the people of Ukraine mourn the loss of life and property, the world watches with bated breath, awaiting a response from Moscow.”
