Russia Warns Israel Against Striking Iranian Nuclear Facilities
Following Iran’s missile attack on Israel on October 1, speculation has arisen that Israel might carry out its long-standing threats to target Iran’s nuclear sites.

It remains unclear how Moscow communicated its message to Israel. Israel and Western nations have long expressed concerns that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear energy program, a claim that Tehran denies.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office indicated that while Israel would heed warnings from the United States—who has also advised against attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities—it would ultimately act in accordance with its own national interests.

The statement referenced a Washington Post article that reported Netanyahu had informed President Joe Biden’s administration that Israel would target Iranian military sites, avoiding nuclear or oil facilities.
Additionally, Russian state media quoted Ryabkov as stating that Moscow maintains constant communication with Iran, regardless of the regional tensions.
Since the onset of its war in Ukraine, Russia has bolstered its relationship with the Islamic Republic and is preparing to sign a significant partnership agreement with Tehran.
