Russian Troops Advance Into Ukrainian Capital

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Russian forces have entered into Kyiv, the Ukrainian Capital.

Ukrainian government officials on Friday revealed that Russian troops were in the northern district of Kyiv.

According to a BBC report, footage shows Russian armoured vehicles advancing into the capital city through the northern district.

Ukraine’s President  Volodymyr Zelensky has since addressed the nation and appealed to Putin to stop the assault and consider a ceasefire to save the lives of citizens of both nations.

The president had in a statement, banned males between the ages of 18- 60 from leaving the country as the activities of the Russian forces continue to trigger tension across the world.

EKO HOT BLOG reported earlier that Russian troops have seized control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began Thursday morning with attacks by land, sea and air in what was immediately the largest military assault by one European state on another since World War Two.

Missiles rained down on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, a city of 3 million people, before dawn Thursday. Ukrainian forces battled Russian troops on three sides on Thursday after Moscow mounted its assault across the country.

By nightfall, a picture was emerging of fierce fighting across multiple fronts. An adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office said Russian forces had captured the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Heavy exchanges of fire were also taking place in the regions of Sumy and Kharkiv in the northeast and Kherson and Odessa in the south.
