EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to a video clip released by Russian state TV on Sunday from the leaders’ virtual call on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin told his US counterpart Joe Biden that he would “really like” to meet for more talks.
In a short video clip released on Russia 1, Putin told the US President: “We will definitely meet, I would really like that.”
The top State Department official for Europe will travel to Russia and Ukraine this week to discuss Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine’s border, the State Department announced on Saturday. This comes less than a week after Biden told Putin in a phone call that the US is prepared to impose harsh economic sanctions if Russia invades Ukraine.
When Biden and Putin spoke last week, they charged their respective teams with following through on their conversations concerning Ukraine.
The leaders agreed that they would need to talk again following the consultations. According to the Kremlin, the date and format of this potential meeting have yet to be determined.
The White House hasn’t ruled out a face-to-face meeting between the two leaders, but nothing is presently scheduled.

He said the call between Biden and Putin was “mutually respectful” and Biden did not frighten Putin during the call.
