Egypt and Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has been nominated for Premier League Player of the Month for April following his spectacular form in the just-ended month.
The 26-year-old scored four league goals and provided an assist to help the Reds continue the intense battle with Man City for the Premier League title including a brace against Huddersfield Town.
With 21 goals, Salah now leads the Premier League goalscorers’ chart and has 25 goals in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men who are also seeking honours in the UEFA Champions League.
For the month under review, Salah is in competition with teammate, Jordan Henderson; Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte, Southampton’s Shane Long, Newcastle United’s Ayoze Perez, Burnley’s Chris Wood and Leicester City hitman, Jamie Vardy.
Although he has faced criticism at some point this season, with many seeing his failure to come close to the 44 goals he plundered for Liverpool last season as a failure of sorts.
However, Salah will be hoping to replicate his performances for Liverpool this season for Pharaohs of Egypt when the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in June. The Pharaohs are in Group A alongside DR Congo, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
