Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani has taken a swipe at Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, for defending the perceived inadequacies of the Federal Government for political gain.
The former lawmaker was reacting to Governor Zulum’s recent defense of President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts in tackling the increasing tide of insecurity in the country.
Reacting via his verified twitter handle on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020, Sani said the Borno State governor finds himself in a difficult position of either telling the unvarnished truth and fall out of favour with his principal, or avoiding the bitterness of the powers over his crown by defending the Presidency even in the face of its perceived inadequacies.
“Brother Zulum is in an inconveniently difficult position of having to balance between telling the bitter truth about his people and avoiding the bitterness of the powers over his crown” Sani wrote on Twitter.

Eko Hot Blog had earlier reported that notwithstanding the recent killing of farmers and other attacks across the North-East state of Borno, Governor Babagana Zulum had rated President Muhammadu Buhari as performing better than his predecessors in handling state’s security challenges.

Mr Zulum said he based his verdict on the statewide security records on the 27 local government areas since 2011.
The governor stated this on Sunday while addressing northern elders from the Arewa Consultative Forum in Maiduguri, who were led by chairman of the forum’s board of trustee, Shehu Malami, and the forum’s executive chairman, Audu Ogbeh.
The governor’s comments however, have been greeted with much rage by Nigerians, especially putting into context the recent insecurity crisis suffered by Zabarmari community in the state.
