Eko Hot Blog reports that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside Senator Tokunbo Abiru, visited the Minister of Works, Engineer Dave Umahi, to express appreciation for the ongoing 34km Ikorodu-Itokin road reconstruction.

The road, originally built in 1975 under General Yakubu Gowon and General Mobolaji Johnson, is crucial for economic growth.
Senator Abiru’s motion in April 2021 emphasized the road’s significance as a key access point linking various parts of the country.
Sanwo-Olu and Abiru advocated for the dualisation of the road to enhance its capacity.
Minister Umahi assured them that the design for the dualisation would commence soon.
The current rehabilitation work has already improved travel along the corridor.
Sanwo-Olu and Abiru also extended their thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support for road infrastructure projects nationwide.
The visit highlights the importance of the Ikorodu-Itokin road for economic development and the need for its expansion to accommodate increasing traffic.
