Eko Hot Blog reports that Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, says Africa is no longer seeking inclusion but positioning itself as an equal partner on a global stage.
The governor said this During the 36th annual session of the Crans Montana Forum in Belgium while delivering a powerful speech emphasizing Nigeria’s efforts to redefine Africa’s narrative on the global stage.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the historical burden of a false depiction that has unfairly labelled Africa as a global liability, a misconception that he believes must be corrected by showcasing the continent’s true essence and value to the world.
“The value inherent in Africa is truly boundless,” he stated, pointing out that Africa boasts the largest reserves of crucial resources such as cobalt, diamonds, and uranium worldwide.
He also emphasized that Africa possesses 65% of the planet’s arable land, positioning it as a key player in global food security. Additionally, Africa is home to approximately 40% of the world’s mineral reserves, with significant percentages of gold, chromium, and platinum concentrated within its borders.
