Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has delegated high-ranking government officials to attend the funeral ceremony of former Lagos APC Treasurer, Rebecca Ajose.
Also expected at the event which will take place in the United States are stalwarts of the ruling party as well as other prominent members of society.
Eko Hot Blog reported earlier that Ajọṣe died on June 13 2021 in Raleigh, North Carolina, after a hard-fought battle with an undisclosed ailment.
Until her death, Rebecca was a member of the North Carolina chapter of Eko Club International, the apex socio-cultural hub for Lagosians in the Diaspora. She was also a Board member Eko Club International in USA, Canada & Europe.
Ajose was a resourceful, dedicated, altruistic and compassionate character. Her commitment to the growth of the party, Lagos state and by extension, Nigeria, made her a model citizen worthy of emulation.
Her deep sense of patriotism and commitment to humanity led her to strive towards occupying positions of service wherever life’s sojourn took her.
In his condolence message, Governor Sanwo-Olu described Ajose as an “indefatigable, devoted, loyal, and committed democrat and team player who played remarkable roles in the success of our party during her lifetime.”
Abby Ajose, Rebecca’s daughter, reacting to the Governor’s show of solidarity since her mother’s demise, appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unflinching support to the family in their time of grief. She prayed for wisdom and inspiration to continue to characterize the administration that has rewarded her mother’s dedication to her state and country with the due respect she deserves.
Àjọṣe will be laid to rest in the first week of August. The Burial Ceremony will kick off as follows:
Thursday, August 5, 2021 – Viewing of the body, which will commence at 2pm EST (7pm Nigeria Time). It will be swiftly followed by Christian wake keeping at Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC. @ 3pm EST (8pm Nigeria Time).
Service of Songs wíll hold on the same day at RCCG Victory Temple, 8470 Garvey Drive, Raleigh NC @ 6:30 PM Est.
For those in Nigeria the Service of Songs, Organized by Committee of Friends, will take place at Paddington Field, Ibukun Str, Behind Stadium Hotel Surulere, Lagos
at 5pm Nigeria Time.
