Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu as Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB).
The governor announced the appointment in a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Mr. Gboyega Akosile.

Before his appointment to chair LASUBEB, Dr. Shittu was a permanent member of the board.
He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA).
The new SUBEB chairman is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) (FNIM) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI). His other professional affiliations include International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (FCFIP), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Institute of Public Accountants, Melbourne, Australia (MIPA), and Institute of Financial Accountants, UK (AFA).
Dr. Shittu, who hails from Epe, Epe Local Government of Lagos State, has vast working experience in both Private and Public Sector of the economy.
For some years, he was the Chief Accountant of Elite Textile Nigeria Limited, a prominent textile manufacturing company in Lagos.
He, however, joined the Public sector as an Accountant in the Local Government Service of Lagos State from where he was appointed as a Special Assistant on Science and Technology by the former Governor of Lagos State and current President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr. Shittu was also appointed as Special Assistant to the Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN. He served in the extended transition committee of Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat government.
He was appointed on September 11, 2019, by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as a permanent board member at LASUBEB where he was responsible for supervising the Planning, Research and Statistics Department of the board.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Epe, Lagos State, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has celebrated Dr. Shittu’s appointment, describing him as a visionary leader.
“It is with great honor, admiration and in jubilation that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu on his well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB),” Anomo said.

The governor also appointed a new member, Hon. Babatunde Jimoh Adewale to complete the seven-man membership of the board.
