Sanwo-Olu Calls For Calm Over Fire Incident In Mandilas Building

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, January 21, 2024, called for calm over the fire incident in Mandilas building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

Sanwo-Olu made this call via his X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening.

 

The Lagos governor gave an update on the extent of the fire incident, lauding the Lagos State firefighters for prompt response.

 

“The fire originated on the 1st floor and got to the 4th. Currently, our brave teams from Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations are actively engaged in firefighting operations,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu revealed that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and no casualties have been reported.

 

“The cause is yet to be determined, but investigations are underway. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported,” he disclosed.

 

Sanwo-Olu urged everyone to be calm, as the first responders are on top of the situation.

“I’d like to urge everyone to remain calm as all of our first responders are working hard to bring the situation to a complete halt,” the governor wrote.

 

Again, he lauded the agencies present to curtail the current situation, saying that, “I salute our incredible firefighting teams and other first responders, including security personnel. Your dedication is unmatched as you face this challenge head-on.”
