Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged journalists to serve as a vital link between the government and the people by effectively reporting on the state’s projects, policies, and achievements.
This, he believes, will keep the public informed and up-to-date on the government’s activities.
Represented by Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of public commentary in shaping the narrative and influencing the trajectory of the government.
He noted that public discourse across various platforms, including social media and print, has the power to drive change and accountability.
“I charge you to find a better way to showcase the state government’s programs,” Sanwo-Olu said. “Public commentaries are very important, and I think they help citizens know a lot about what the government is doing.”
