Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered all civil servants in the state on Grade Levels 14 and below to continue working remotely for another two weeks.
According to a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile, the affected workers would now resume on January 18, 2021.
The statement explained that the extension became necessary following the continued increase in cases of COVID-19 recorded in the state.
The directive was contained in a circular titled, “Re: Stemming the Tide of the Second Wave Of COVID-19 Pandemic”, issued by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, to members of the State Executive Council and all heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on Sunday.
Eko Hot Blog gathers that essential duty staff and first responders are not affected by the directive.
Governor Sanwo-Olu urged all civil servants to stay safe and keep adhering to all COVID-19 protocols in order to rid the state of the pandemic as soon as possible.
