“It is important to support our amiable LG Chairman who is passionate about tourism in Epe and Lagos State.”
Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has restated his commitment towards supporting the tourism development potentials of Epe Division.
The Governor, represented by his Special Adviser on Tourism Arts and Culture, Mr Solomon Bonu, stated this at the World-Class Epe Theatre edifice, after the performance of a Yoruba Classical Drama titled, “Obi ati Orogbo,” staged by Footprints of David Troupe on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
The governor, via his proxy, stated that it was imperative for him to support the tourism development drive of the Chairman of the Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun.
“It is important to support our amiable LG Chairman who is passionate about tourism in Epe and Lagos State. There are a lot of things we have to do together to promote Epe. When you talk about Lagos State and tourism, you talk about Epe and Badagry.”
“We have to let the public know that this is where they are supposed to come and spend their weekend, We opened this place for them, so many programs are coming up here henceforth so that people can relax and enjoy the benefits of tourism in Lagos State,” he stated.
“The establishment of Films Village in Ejinrin, the Sugbon Eredo world heritage site, Fish festival and Eebi festival and the completion of the Eleko-Epe road, he said, are among the vision of the State to promote tourism. “These are capable of driving the traffic of tourism in Epe.”

“I just want to thank His Excellency for a job well done and the team of Art and Culture. But I think that they need to do a bit more sensitization and reorientation because it is not just about Epe, it’s about Epe Division. The best way to do more is to try and contact the leaders in various communities to work as a team. The Chairman can’t do it alone but with the combination of all the monarchs, we’ll bring people over here to relax. It’s a good thing, I’m happy,” he stated.
