Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat on Saturday submitted their Asset Declaration Forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
Sanwo-Olu’s Media Adviser, Gboyega Akosile, made the disclosure in a statement.
He said that the asset declaration was in compliance with paragraph 11 part 1 of the 5th schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that mandates political office holders to declare their assets on assumption and at the end of their term in office.
“Sanwo-Olu and his deputy have, by their action, satisfied section 185(1) of the same Constitution that makes it paramount for the political office holders to declare their Assets before they take oath of office,” Akosile said.
The governor’s spokesperson also disclosed that the asset declaration was administered to the governor and his deputy by Professor S.F Ogundare, the CCB Board member representing South West zone.
Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat will be sworn in for their second term in office as governor and deputy governor of Lagos State on Monday, May 29, 2023.
They won reelection in the March 18 governorship election by a landslide victory.
