Sanwo-Olu To Host 18th Lagos Security Town Hall

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will host the 18th annual Lagos State Town Hall Meeting on Security, a key summit designed to address security challenges and solutions in the state.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced in a statement on Wednesday that the event, themed “Data & Technology-Driven Security: The Way Forward,” will take place on December 18, 2024, at Lagos House, Ikeja.

“This summit serves as a vital platform for stakeholders in the security sector to deliberate on innovative approaches to enhance safety in Lagos,” Omotoso stated.

A major highlight of the event will be the presentation of patrol vehicles and other security equipment to law enforcement agencies. Additionally, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Rasaq Balogun, will deliver an account of his administration’s efforts, alongside contributions from other security chiefs.

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund, established in 2007 to address violent crimes such as bank robberies, has significantly improved the security landscape of the state. Omotoso noted that Lagos has recorded no bank robberies in the past five years, a feat credited to the Fund’s initiatives.
