Sanwo-Olu Lauds Surveyors, Vows Continued Partnership For Mega City Vision

Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a resounding display of appreciation, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) for their unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of the profession.

The governor’s commendation came during an investiture ceremony honoring 14 surveyors elevated to the Fellow cadre.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, stated, “The collaboration between the government and the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors has been instrumental in advancing our society through the THEMES Plus agenda.”

He further emphasized the administration’s commitment to continued collaboration with the NIS to achieve the “Megacity with A Mega Economy” vision.

Moreover, the governor highlighted various survey works undertaken by his government, including Geodetic Control, Airborne Global Position System (ABGPS) Aerial Photography, and the introduction of Lidar Images to map underground infrastructure.

“The M in the THEMES Plus Developmental Agenda represents our intentional steps, focus and efforts towards making Lagos A Megacity with A Mega Economy,” Sanwo-Olu affirmed.

In addition to commending the NIS leadership, the governor also advised the newly inducted Fellows to uphold the highest ethical standards and imbibe the virtues of integrity, professionalism, and exemplary conduct.

This sentiment was echoed by the NIS President, Surv. (Dr.) Mathew Olomolatan, who urged the new Fellows to recognize their investiture as a recognition of exceptional contributions and unwavering commitment to the profession.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a plaque to the governor and the decoration of the Fellows with Medallions and Certificates.

Furthermore, the Guest Speaker, Hon. Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul, emphasized the dynamics of leadership and the dilemma of followership, urging leaders to lead with love and empathy, while followers must serve diligently.
