Sanwo-Olu Mourns Ex-Ikeja NBA Chairman, Adesina Ogunlana

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of human rights activist and former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch, Barr. Comrade Adesina Ogunlana.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described Ogunlana’s passing as shocking and a significant loss to Lagos State. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and members of the NBA, especially the Ikeja Branch, acknowledging Ogunlana as a “fearless and courageous lawyer.”

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted the profound impact Ogunlana’s death has on his family, associates, clients, and the legal community.

He praised Ogunlana, affectionately known as “Serubawon” by his colleagues, for living a fulfilled life and making positive contributions to the lives of ordinary people.

Comrade Adesina Ogunlana

Comrade Adesina Ogunlana was a prominent human rights activist and a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch.

Known for his fearless and courageous advocacy, Ogunlana earned the nickname “Serubawon,” which means “intimidate the intimidators” in Yoruba.

He was a dedicated lawyer who passionately fought for the rights of ordinary people and was deeply involved in numerous legal battles and human rights campaigns.

Ogunlana’s legacy includes his significant contributions to the legal profession and his unwavering commitment to justice and equality.

His passing is a notable loss to his family, colleagues, and the broader legal and activist communities.
